This year’s Dutch Design Week is all about the Greater Number.
Because if we focus on economic growth alone, are we really aiming for a better world? This year’s exhibition aims to explore what happens if you would focus on a different number, different solutions, and alternate societies. You can create your personal route on ddw.nl, by hearting your favorite items. Turn on visitor mode on the website and it will guide you through Eindhoven! Besides the graduation expo, we are eager to explore Eindhoven too. Here are some of the highlights on our route, curated by our strategy lead and design enthusiast Lotte Bloem.
01 Dutch Invertuals - Objects for a new kind of society
Dutch Invertuals are born storytellers. I’m always intrigued by their exhibition design, where they succeed in letting you look at objects on different levels. You always look again or make a different round once more. This year’s exhibit focuses on how design can foster future cities in which collective ownership, fluid identities, and nature thrive.

02 Kevn x Mini Galerie - with Merijn Hos and Jordy van den Nieuwendijk
Some of Verve's favorite artists and designers have joined forces in the collective expo by Kevn and Mini Galerie. Find a solo exhibit of Merijn Hos, works of B.D. Graft, Jordy van den Nieuwendijk, great food and fingerlicking design books near Strijp S.

I might be biased, but I believe that designers can create their very best work when involved in the early stage of both product and business development.
03 Cabinet of Collaborations
What happens when design and industry collide? At the Cabinet of Collaborations, both branches meet and get into conversation about the role of a designer. Both an exhibition and meeting place, the Cabinet of Collaborations zooms in on the bigger topics and problems that challenge the future of our society. Let’s be honest, if we weren’t designing so well, we might not have coped with over efficient food productions and production chains. So if we want to move forward, we have to challenge what’s already there and focus on the win-win for both business and society. The key is in the design solution.
I might be biased, but I believe that designers can create their very best work when involved in the early stage of both product and business development. We can challenge ideas, reshape what’s common and are eager to bring together all the different perspectives while focussing on the core. So I’m curious to dive into the works that are exhibited!

04 LAWKI_Alive at MU Hybrid Art House
Every day, millions of photos, videos, and podcasts are uploaded on the World Wide Web. LAWKI-Alive dives into the digital overload and researches how we as well as AI deal with it. MU allows you to dive into the world of LAWKI_Alive. Dealing with and shaping online brand experience on a daily basis, I’m curious to dive into this digital overflow of imagery.

05 Art Tech Fun Robots eGirls Manifestations
We got a sense of Art Tech Fun Robots last year in their digital exhibit, so to experience it in real life must be as sensational, or even more overwhelming - in a good way. Manifestations researches the (mis)match between people and technology in a funny and spectacular way, as mentioned on their program page. I’m really eager to dwell through their world and find out how they’re aiming for a sweeter, more human world through technology.

This list can go on, because I almost forgot to mention the amazing works of Christien Meindertsma and Floris Alkemade. So, please explore the program yourselves: save your favorites, turn on visitor mode and share your highlights and route with @vervetheagency on Instagram. If you’re not able to travel to Eindhoven. DDWTV has got you covered. Tune in for live talks and interviews with renowned designers, architects and artists. Enjoy!
We’re at DDW on Wednesday and Friday, so reach out if you want to say hi.
