In the galaxy behind our smart devices there’s a digital highway connecting people, businesses and products all over the world. Leading and paving the way for entrepreneurs to create better services and connections to clients, NLIX has become one of the backbones in our digital infrastructure. Ever since the start in the early 2000s, NLIX has done things differently and stayed humble in the process.
Now, almost 20 years later, they decided to claim their position more profoundly and promote their clients from being just a user, to becoming part of the internet themselves. NLIX challenged Verve to go all out and translate their brand story into a vivid brand personality, design & content system and digital platform that fuels their international growth.
Geeks with a vision
In close collaboration with consultancy firm Hill + Knowlton, we hosted an intensive series of strategic workshops, researched the core of the brand and mapped the customer journey. In result, we defined a brand personality and designed a system that embraces the strategic vision and geekiness of NLIX. We brought focus on the services and introduced a volume button to go from brand storytelling to sales pitch in a split second.
Because the backstage of the internet offers possibilities beyond human imagination, we embrace exciting sci-fi aesthetics and use them to our advantage. After all NLIX is the internet, and when you connect to their network, you’ll be the internet too.
Grids that guide you
A digitally inspired colorscheme, with Outlaw Green as its main asset, serves as a solid base to highlight things in the mostly black universe. We used illustration to showcase the limitless possibilities of interconnection. People within the illustrations serve as internautes, as what the French call an internet-user, conquering new grounds within the NLIX Universe. The X in the new logo is your compass. NLIX can use it as a stepping point, crossroad or wormhole to get from A to B as fast as possible.
We create focus in the field of tangled cords and ever-running data streams, empowering the user to choose their own path.
Get in the drivers' seat
NLIX’s network is their most important asset. Their platform serves as a place where users are invited to get in the drivers' seat of the internet. To get them on board, the website focuses on conversion and uses visual elements to bring the brand's story to life. To ensure that latency, different API’s were build and transit details are shown in real-time.
In all its details, we envisioned the website as a place where the users are in the lead from the moment they’ve entered the platform. The homepage functions as an immersive dashboard that lets the user interact with the network of NLIX in real-time. Other pages are less about storytelling, but more about service. Wherever you land, you’ll always feel the exciting possibilities of the web and the leaping imagery.
On the way, we will challenge the users to take the bold move.
Connect and interconnect
With their new branding on point, NLIX is ready to shape and sharpen the internet for the years to come. They are now more than ready to challenge their clients to surf the web and interconnect at great new lengths.

As a nerd, I’m especially proud of the vintage gaming aspects of the website. We used small nudges to code language, like breadcrumbs, written as if they were in a folder structure.
